Mumbai, September 13 (Udaipur Kiran) : Continuous heavy rainfall in Mumbai and surrounding areas has significantly disrupted daily life, causing waterlogging in several locations. Since Saturday night, the downpour has created challenging conditions for commuters, especially around the Nalasopara railway station, where passengers are forced to wade through water to reach their destinations. Crowds have gathered at the station amidst the flooding.
In Vasai-Virar city, persistent rainfall has led to water accumulation on roads, including areas like Centre Park and Tulinj Bridge, causing difficulties for drivers and pedestrians alike. Similar conditions are reported in Dadar, where heavy rain has also affected local transport, with water collecting on the railway tracks at Kurla station.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar for Sunday, forecasting thunderstorms, light to moderate rain, and winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h. The department stated that cloudy conditions are expected to persist, with intermittent moderate showers and the possibility of lightning.
