Baran, August 3 (Udaipur Kiran) – Four people died in a road accident on National Highway 27 late Friday night. Six others were injured and taken to Kishanganj hospital. The accident occurred when a jeep, traveling from Baran towards Kelwada, hit a cow that suddenly appeared on the road, about two kilometers before Bhanwargarh town. The vehicle overturned after hitting the cow. Four people died on the spot.
ASP Rajesh Chaudhary said the incident occurred near Rampuria in the Bhanwargarh police station area on National Highway 27 on Friday night. The jeep was passing through the highway when a cattle suddenly appeared. In an attempt to save the cattle, the jeep lost balance and overturned, severely damaging it and trapping the occupants inside. Hearing the screams of those trapped in the jeep, people from nearby areas rushed to help. After a lot of effort, they were pulled out. Jeep occupants Fulchand son of Tulsiram, Haricharan Mehta, Lakhan son of Fagu Sahariya, and Raju Sahariya from MP’s Bamori died on the spot. Lakhan and Fulchand were relatives; Fulchand was Lakhan’s maternal uncle.
Murali, Makhan, Hemraj, Gaura Bai, Anand, Fagu, Shravan, Purushottam Bada, and others were injured in the accident. The police arrived at the scene and took the injured to the hospital. DSP Omendra Singh Shekhawat, SP Rajkumar Chaudhary, and Collector Rohitashwa Singh Tomar also visited Kishanganj Hospital to inquire about the injured. All these people had gone to pick up their sister from Kishnaipura village in the Ramgarh area when the accident happened on their way back, before Bhanwargarh town. The driver suddenly applied the brakes after a cow appeared in front, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.
