Hyderabad, June 27: The police in Telangana have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of four family members in Nalgonda. The main accused, a relative of the victims, allegedly conspired with his wife, a friend, and a jeweler due to personal grudges, financial difficulties, and the intent to rob cash and gold jewelry.
According to Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar, the case was solved within three days with the help of CCTV footage, technical evidence, and scientific investigation. The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Sultan (45), his wife Hasina (38), son Mujammil (20), and daughter Apsara (14). Their bodies were discovered in a decomposed state at their home in Telangana Colony on June 22.
The investigation revealed that Syed Aslam, a relative of the victim family, committed the murders on June 20. Police have also arrested his wife Tabassum and two accomplices, Sohail and Hemant Kumar. Reports indicate that Hasina had lent Aslam and Tabassum ₹1 lakh a year ago. When Aslam requested another loan, Hasina refused and asked for the previous amount to be returned, leading to a growing animosity that culminated in the murders.
Further investigation showed that Aslam had planned the crime after watching YouTube videos. On the morning of June 20, he lay in wait outside Sultan’s home. When Hasina stepped out, he attacked her. Hearing her screams, Sultan and Mujammil rushed outside but were also stabbed to death. The 14-year-old Apsara, who was hiding under a bed inside, was also killed.
After the murders, the accused stole cash and jewelry from the house before fleeing. Neighbors reported a foul smell, prompting the police to recover the bodies. Initially suspected to be a case of suicide, the post-mortem report confirmed the murders. Following the investigation and questioning of relatives, police apprehended all four suspects.
Authorities have recovered a car, ₹30.04 lakh, five tolas of melted gold, the murder weapon, three mobile phones, blood-stained clothing, and land and bank documents from the accused. All suspects have been presented in court and are now in judicial custody.
