Vedanta Pays ₹62,722 Crore to Exchequer in FY26

Mumbai (Udaipur Kiran), June 26: Vedanta Limited has contributed ₹62,722 crore to the national exchequer during FY26, according to the company’s 11th Tax Transparency Report. The contribution accounts for around 36% of the company’s consolidated revenue from operations and marks its second-highest annual contribution to the exchequer.

The company said its contribution increased by 13.3% over the previous financial year, taking its cumulative contribution to ₹4,83,034 crore over the past ten years. Vedanta also stated that it ranks among India’s top three private-sector contributors to the national exchequer.

The report said the contribution followed Vedanta’s strongest-ever financial performance in FY26. The company reported revenue of ₹1,74,075 crore, EBITDA of ₹55,976 crore, and profit after tax of ₹25,096 crore. Its Net Debt to EBITDA improved to 0.95x, compared with 1.22x in the previous period.

Vedanta said the performance was supported by its diversified businesses, including zinc, lead, silver, aluminium, copper, iron ore, steel, power, nickel, chrome, and oil and gas. Among its business segments, Zinc contributed ₹19,053 crore, followed by Vedanta Aluminium with ₹15,788 crore, and Vedanta Oil & Gas with ₹11,697 crore.

According to the report, the FY26 contribution included ₹14,840 crore in government royalties and profit petroleum, ₹8,290 crore in income and capital taxes, ₹11,897 crore in other taxes borne, ₹21,777 crore in indirect taxes, ₹3,188 crore in withholding taxes, and ₹1,180 crore in corporate dividends paid to the Government of India through its stake in Hindustan Zinc Limited.

Vedanta said tax transparency remains a key part of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework. The company has published its Tax Transparency Report for the eleventh consecutive year, aligning its tax principles with the B-Team Responsible Tax Principles and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).
