Jaipur, June 18, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Rajasthan government has announced major relief for state employees by granting a two-year relaxation in the mandatory service period required for promotions. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma approved the decision as part of the implementation of Budget 2026-27 announcements.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of government employees who were unable to qualify for promotion due to a shortfall in the prescribed service period. However, the relaxation will not apply to employees who have already availed similar benefits during the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) years 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26.
According to the government, the decision will help fill promotional vacancies more efficiently and improve administrative functioning across departments.
149 New Posts Approved in Secretariat
In another significant decision, the state government has sanctioned the creation of 149 new posts in the Rajasthan Secretariat to strengthen administrative operations.
The newly approved positions include:
- 15 posts of Assistant Government Secretary
- 67 posts of Assistant Section Officer
- 67 posts of Clerk Grade-I
The government believes that the additional posts will not only enhance administrative efficiency but also create fresh employment opportunities for eligible candidates.
Officials said the decisions are aimed at accelerating government work, improving employee morale, and ensuring smoother functioning of departments. Necessary amendments to the relevant service rules are expected to be initiated shortly.
