Udaipur, May 13 (Udaipur Kiran) — Under a special enforcement drive launched to curb the illegal manufacture, storage, transportation and sale of liquor in Rajasthan, the Excise Department has intensified naka checking, patrols and raids across the state on the directions of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta.

During the campaign conducted from May 1 to May 11, 2026, authorities registered 1,044 cases and arrested 380 people in connection with illegal liquor activities.
According to the Excise Department, officials seized 4,150 litres of country liquor worth Rs 11.14 lakh, 943 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 9.40 lakh, 1,476 litres of beer worth Rs 3.31 lakh, and 7,021 litres of illicit liquor. A total of 2,80,533 litres of wash used for manufacturing illegal liquor was also destroyed during the operation.
The department further seized 42 vehicles, including eight heavy vehicles, two light four-wheelers and 32 two-wheelers.
Under the zero-tolerance policy against illegal liquor trade and inter-state smuggling, excise teams carried out major operations in several districts.
In Hanumangarh, raids in Nohar, Sangaria and Hanumangarh led to the destruction of 5,100 litres of wash and seven illegal distillation units. Officials also seized four motorcycles, 85 pouches of country liquor and 35 litres of illicit liquor.
In Chittorgarh, intensive vehicle checking was conducted on the Neemuch and Kota highways by the enforcement teams.
In Nagaur, excise officials destroyed 200 litres of wash and recovered four litres of illegal liquor.
In Jodhpur, operations in Luni, Sardarpura, Jodhpur city and Phalodi resulted in the arrest of nine absconding accused and destruction of 150 litres of wash along with one active distillation unit.
In Dholpur, raids in sensitive villages Adarsh Nagar and Pachgaon led to the destruction of 5,000 litres of wash and five illegal furnaces. Officials also seized 15 litres of illicit liquor and registered two cases.
In Sirohi, excise teams raided illegal liquor hideouts near riverbanks in Vasda village under the Abu Road area and destroyed 6,000 litres of fermented wash hidden in 12 water tanks. One active distillation setup was also dismantled.
In Baran, raids in Lakshmipura village under Chhabra subdivision resulted in the destruction of 11,000 litres of wash and 23 illegal furnaces. Officials registered seven cases, seized 80 litres of illicit liquor and one motorcycle, and arrested two accused.
Similar enforcement action was also carried out in Jhalawar and Bhawanimandi, where illegal liquor was recovered from motorcycles.
In Dausa, raids in Mahua and Lalsot areas led to the destruction of 6,300 litres of wash and nine furnaces. Officials seized 57 litres of illicit liquor and 40 pouches of country liquor while registering six cases.
The Excise Department said intensive checking, raids and patrol operations are continuing across all districts of Rajasthan under the ongoing special enforcement campaign.
