Mumbai, July 21: Gold and silver prices witnessed a significant rise for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. The price of gold has surged to over ₹1.43 lakh per 10 grams, while silver has crossed ₹2.23 lakh per 10 grams.
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold increased by ₹883 or 0.61%, reaching ₹1,43,137 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,42,254. The price of 22-carat gold rose from ₹1,30,305 to ₹1,31,113 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the price of 18-carat gold increased from ₹1,06,691 to ₹1,07,353 per 10 grams.
Silver also saw a notable increase, with its price rising by ₹3,629 or 1.65%, now standing at ₹2,23,204 per kilogram, up from ₹2,19,575 per kilogram.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), both gold and silver prices showed upward trends. As of the time of writing, the gold contract for August 5, 2026, was trading at ₹1,42,550 per 10 grams, up by 0.82%, while the silver contract for September 4, 2026, was priced at ₹2,23,057 per 10 grams, reflecting a 2.13% increase.
Internationally, gold and silver prices also experienced gains, with gold trading at $4,064 per ounce, up by 1.22%, and silver at $59 per ounce, a rise of 3.54%.
Experts attribute this surge to increased demand for safe investments amid rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran. They predict that gold prices may fluctuate between ₹1,41,000 and ₹1,45,000 per 10 grams in the near future.
