Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s top priority has always been farmer welfare.
Modi has made the release of the 17th installment under the ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi’ to farmers across the country his first act after becoming Prime Minister for the third time. Millions of farmers in Rajasthan will also benefit from this.
Sharma said that Prime Minister Modi has given financial support to the food providers of the country by taking many historic decisions. The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, under which farmers get an annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000, is one of these important decisions. He said that Modi has distributed Rs 20,000 crore by releasing the 17th installment of this scheme as soon as he took over as Prime Minister today.
The Chief Minister said that this decision will bring a new dawn of hope, prosperity and development in the lives of farmers. About 9.3 crore farmers across the country will benefit from this decision. So far, more than Rs 3 lakh crore has been distributed directly to over 12 crore 33 lakh beneficiaries in 16 installments under this scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Sharma said that the state government has taken important and far-reaching decisions for the welfare of farmers. In this sequence, the state government has increased the financial assistance given to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi from Rs 6000 to Rs 8000 per year. Along with this, the minimum support price of wheat has been increased to Rs 2400 by giving an additional bonus of Rs 125 per quintal.
