CPI Leader D. Raja Expresses Condolences Over Delhi Building Collapse

Delhi, September 6 (Udaipur Kiran) : D. Raja, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), expressed his condolences regarding the recent building collapse in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area. He also raised concerns about the administration’s response to the incident.

In a statement, Raja conveyed that the party is shocked by the tragedy, noting that such incidents are not new to Delhi and may not be the last. He emphasized the need for serious examination of building safety standards, structural integrity, and longevity to prevent future disasters.

Raja highlighted that the extent of damage and the condition of the students residing in the building remain unclear. He questioned why rescue and relief teams did not arrive promptly, stating, “As the national capital, Delhi should have a state-of-the-art and vigilant rescue mechanism in place. A detailed report of the entire incident should be made public.”

He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not addressing critical issues such as the education system, budgetary provisions, teacher training, and quality education, instead choosing to attack opposition parties and critics.

Raja pointed out that not only the youth but all sections of society are questioning government policies and expressing dissent. He urged the Prime Minister to communicate with greater responsibility and seriousness.

On the issue of a mosque being demolished in Saharanpur, Raja called it a serious matter, noting that the mosque was quite old and had valid documentation supporting its existence. He alleged that the administration acted over the weekend, denying affected parties adequate opportunity for legal recourse. Some political activists protesting the demolition were reportedly placed under house arrest.

He reiterated that India is a secular and democratic nation, and laws concerning religious sites must be respected. Continuous actions of this nature jeopardize the rule of law and religious freedom.

Regarding the provisions related to marriage contracts under the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand, Raja stated that the CPI is studying the matter and will provide a detailed response at the appropriate time.

On the United Nations’ proposal regarding Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Raja urged the Indian government to involve the entire nation and all political parties in discussions on such sensitive issues. He emphasized that External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, being an expert in international affairs, should prioritize the protection of India’s national interests, whether concerning the world map or other international matters.
