Udaipur, January 12 – The three-day National Chintan Shivir on Women and Child Development, jointly organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD), Government of India, and the Government of Rajasthan, concluded on Sunday in Udaipur. The event saw extensive deliberations on integrated development issues concerning women and children, emphasizing the crucial role of women in building a developed India. Delegates, including representatives and officials from various states, reaffirmed their commitment to addressing challenges and adopting innovative solutions.

The Chintan Shivir focused on various flagship programs and schemes, including Saksham Anganwadi, Poshan Abhiyan 2.0, Mission Shakti, and Mission Vatsalya. Participants reviewed the progress of these initiatives and shared innovative practices from different states, highlighting their positive outcomes.

During the concluding session, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi expressed her satisfaction with the discussions, calling the Chintan Shivir a fruitful exercise. She said, “Many challenges were addressed effectively, and healthy discussions on innovations took place. I am hopeful that the positive outcomes of this Shivir will soon be visible on the ground.”

The event witnessed vibrant participation from various state delegations, who presented successful case studies and innovative interventions in areas such as child nutrition, women’s empowerment, and early childhood care.   1. Strengthening Anganwadi Infrastructure: States pledged to upgrade Anganwadi centers with better facilities and digital tools to enhance early childhood education and nutrition services.
  2. Expanding Poshan Abhiyan: There was a unanimous agreement to intensify efforts under Poshan Abhiyan 2.0 to address malnutrition among children and pregnant women.
  3. Scaling Up Innovations: States shared several innovative practices, such as community kitchens, mobile Anganwadi services, and digital monitoring systems. The Ministry committed to supporting the replication of these models nationwide.
  4. Ensuring Gender Equality: Delegates emphasized the need for more focused programs to promote gender equality, particularly in rural areas, through education, skill development, and financial inclusion.
