“Empowered Women to Play a Crucial Role in Building a Developed India”: Union Minister Annapurna Devi at National Chintan Shivir

Udaipur, January 12 – Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India cannot be realized without the integrated development of women and children. Speaking at the concluding press conference of the National Chintan Shivir, she underscored the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to achieve the highest goals in women and child development.

The three-day Chintan Shivir, organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, brought together policymakers, experts, and officials from across the country to deliberate on innovative solutions and strategies to tackle key challenges in this sector. The minister expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the discussions, stating, “A comprehensive report based on the discussions will be prepared, and the ministry will formulate future strategies accordingly. With these concerted efforts, women, who form half of the population, will be empowered to play their full role in achieving the vision of a developed India.”

Highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting working women, the minister announced that Rs 11,200 crore worth of schemes have been approved to enhance the welfare of working women across the country. She noted that major cities have seen a significant rise in the number of working women, prompting the government to introduce targeted initiatives to address their specific needs. These initiatives aim to create a supportive environment for women in the workforce, ensuring that they can contribute to the nation’s progress without facing undue hardships.

She urged more individuals and organizations to come forward and adopt Anganwadi centers, saying, “This is a commendable initiative. If local individuals or groups adopt Anganwadi centers, it can greatly improve the quality of services provided to children and mothers.”
