Jaipur/Sriganganagar, May 5, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — Acting on the directions of Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Sriganganagar Police carried out a major operation in the border area and seized a large consignment of weapons and narcotics.

Under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Harishankar, the Sameja Kothi police station team acted swiftly on a tip-off received during patrol and arrested two accused.
According to police, on May 4, 2026, Constable Kaluram received information that two youths in a Kia Sonet car had arrived in the border area to collect a narcotics consignment. Police teams were immediately deployed in the area.
During the operation, the suspicious car, moving from Salempura towards Bajuwala, hit a private Bolero vehicle of Assistant Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar and attempted to flee back towards Sameja Kothi. The police quickly set up a blockade using a tractor-trolley outside the town.
The accused tried to break the blockade and collided with the tractor-trolley, after which the vehicle stopped. The police team surrounded the car and detained the two occupants.
During the search, a bag containing a large cache of illegal items was recovered, including five pistols, 72 cartridges, 1 kg 494 grams of heroin, and 990 grams of opium.
The arrested accused have been identified as Kulvinder Singh, son of Karnail Singh, and Robin Singh, son of Balkar Singh, both residents of Mahatma Nagar, Fazilka in Punjab. A case has been registered against them under relevant sections, and further legal action is underway.
Police officials highlighted the commendable role of Constable Surajbhan and Constable Kaluram, whose alertness and prompt action led to the successful operation.
The seizure is being seen as a major crackdown on illegal trafficking of narcotics and weapons in the border region.
