Balrampur, June 6: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of electing good representatives for the development of society. Speaking at the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of projects worth over ₹300 crores in Balrampur, he warned that choosing mafia elements would only lead to the exploitation of the poor. “We have dismantled the mafia and are building homes for the underprivileged on their lands,” he stated.
The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to providing facilities for farmers, traders, and women, asserting that every district is now connected to the mainstream of development. He acknowledged the progress made in Balrampur, recalling a time when communal riots were common during festivals. “Today, 75 districts and over 57,000 gram panchayats in Uttar Pradesh are riot-free,” he noted.
During the event, beneficiaries of various government schemes, including the rural housing scheme, were honored. CM Yogi also recognized the outstanding performance of students from the Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School.
He pointed out that prior to 2017, the poor struggled to access basic necessities like ration, which was often misappropriated by local goons. Now, every poor person receives free rations, and services such as income and residence certificates are being provided in villages. The Ayushman card is also available for the treatment of the underprivileged.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s policy of ensuring safety for women and traders, stating that any infringement would not be tolerated. He praised Balrampur for its new identity as a hub for investment and employment, driven by its cultural heritage and development initiatives.
Yogi Adityanath concluded by discussing environmental protection, urging the public to remember that “water is life.” He announced that Balrampur is set to receive over ₹300 crores for various projects, marking a significant turnaround from its previous status as one of the most backward districts in the country.
Overall, he expressed confidence that Balrampur is on the path to becoming a model of development in Uttar Pradesh.
