Bhopal, August 15: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state has achieved a significant milestone by becoming Naxal-free after nearly 35 years. Speaking at a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Independence Day, he emphasized that the police force is the backbone of service, security, and good governance in the state.
During the event, 47 police and home guard officials were honored with various awards, including the President’s Distinguished Service Medal and the President’s Home Guard and Civil Defence Medal. CM Yadav congratulated the medal recipients for their courage and dedication.
He highlighted that the police have provided the citizens of Madhya Pradesh with a priceless gift on Independence Day by eliminating the Naxal threat. CM Yadav reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to a Naxal-free India, stating that the Madhya Pradesh government is working shoulder to shoulder with this vision. He noted that the state has become a leading example in the country for bidding farewell to Naxalism.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the crucial role played by police personnel and the Hawk Force in the campaign against Naxalism. He mentioned that many former Naxals have surrendered and are now joining the mainstream development efforts. The government is committed to the development of tribal areas that have long been deprived of basic amenities.
CM Yadav praised the dedication of police and home guard officials, who remain vigilant in maintaining law and order even in challenging circumstances. He stated that their commitment fosters a sense of security and trust within society.
Additionally, he emphasized the government’s duty to bring smiles to the faces of all citizens. This year, for the first time in the state’s history, 27,534 police officers and personnel have been promoted, as their promotions are tied to the government’s emotions.
The Chief Minister also announced ongoing recruitment in the police force, with over 14,704 candidates selected since 2023, and approval for 9,751 new police personnel this year. Furthermore, police stations and senior police offices have been integrated with digital services.
