Udaipur, May 2, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): With the launch of Census 2027’s first phase, citizens can now complete self-enumeration from home using the official onlineportal. The digital process aims to make participation easier and more convenient.
Step-by-Step Process
To begin, visit the official self-enumeration website. Select your state and enter the captcha code to proceed.
Next, register or log in using the head of the family’s name and mobile number. An OTP will be sent to the registered number for verification.
After login, a map interface will appear. Enter your city name and pin code, then use the map tool to mark the exact location of your house.
Fill Required Details
Applicants need to fill in detailed information about the household. Around 33 fields are to be completed, including details such as head of the family, gender, source of drinking water, toilet availability, drainage system, and construction material of the house.
Information related to cooking fuel, LPG/PNG connection, and availability of devices like TV, laptop, smartphone and computer is also required.
Submission and Unique ID
After submitting the form, an 11-digit unique ID starting with the letter ‘H’ will be generated. Citizens are advised to save or take a screenshot of this ID. It must be shown to the enumerator during the verification visit.
According to Bishnu Charan Mallik, the self-enumeration facility is designed to help busy individuals participate in the census at their convenience. However, even if citizens do not complete self-enumeration, field enumerators will still visit households for data collection.
