Udaipur, July 25: Pacific Dental College and Hospital, Debari, organised a two-day hands-on workshop on Research Methodology and Biostatistics on July 24 and 25. The workshop aimed to strengthen the research skills and statistical knowledge of postgraduate dental students and faculty members from various dental colleges in Udaipur.
Experts Lead Academic Sessions
The inaugural session was attended by Dr. A. Bhagwandas Rai, Principal; Dr. Mohit Pal Singh, Vice Principal; Dr. Aditi Mathur, Scientific Coordinator; Dr. Kailash Asawa, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry; and chief guest speaker Dr. Kadambari Ambildhok, Associate Professor, Sinhgad Dental College, Pune.
Dr. Ambildhok, an expert in research methodology and biostatistics, has conducted several national-level workshops and has extensive experience in training students and researchers in scientific research.
Focus on Practical Research Skills
The workshop covered the fundamentals of research methodology through interactive lectures and practical hands-on sessions. Participants received training in:
- Literature search techniques
- Preparation and management of Excel sheets
- Sample size calculation using G*Power software
- Selection and application of statistical tests
- Basic statistical analysis
- Other essential aspects of research and data analysis
Participants actively engaged in practical exercises and had the opportunity to clarify their queries during the sessions.
Beneficial for Postgraduate Research
The organisers said the workshop provided valuable knowledge and practical skills that will help postgraduate students complete their dissertations and build a strong foundation for conducting quality research in their respective fields.
A total of 60 postgraduate students and faculty members from dental colleges in Udaipur participated in the programme. The workshop received an enthusiastic response from participants and concluded successfully, emerging as an important academic initiative to promote research-oriented education in dentistry.
