Jaipur, May 2, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran):Weather conditions in Rajasthan have turned unstable, with forecasts of thunderstorms, rain and strong winds across several regions till May 6. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 21 districts, warning of changing weather patterns after days of intense heat.
Districts under alert include Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Deeg, Dholpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Tonk, Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Phalodi and Sri Ganganagar.
The sudden shift in weather has raised concerns among farmers due to the risk of crop damage. While recent rainfall and hailstorms have brought some relief from heat, fluctuating conditions continue to pose challenges.
Temperature levels have seen slight variation. Barmer recorded a high of 44.6°C, while several districts continue to experience temperatures between 40°C and 44°C. Jaipur also witnessed strong winds and light rainfall on the evening of May 1.
Forecasts indicate that a western disturbance may become active in the coming days, which could further influence weather conditions across the state. A marginal drop of 1–2°C in maximum temperatures is expected, offering some relief from heatwave conditions.
However, weather is likely to remain unstable during the first week of May, with hot days followed by cloudy evenings, gusty winds and chances of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder.
