New Delhi, July 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage in a video conference with participants of the Vibrant Village Program 2026 on Sunday at 4:30 PM. An official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed the interaction, emphasizing the program’s goal of enhancing development and community participation in India’s border villages.

The initiative, implemented through ‘My India’, aims to transform these villages into active contributors to the nation’s development. The PMO stated that the program is designed to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of recognizing border villages as integral to the nation’s progress.

The Vibrant Village Program 2026 was conducted in two phases from June 4 to June 30, 2026, involving 74 vibrant villages from Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Over 400 young participants were selected through a nationwide online quiz competition, which attracted more than 300,000 youths.

During the program, participants spent time with local communities to gain firsthand experience of life in India’s border areas. They engaged in various community activities, including cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns on government schemes, youth conferences, cultural exchange programs, tree plantation drives, mini model panchayat simulations, interactions with local artisans, and visits to strategically significant institutions.

Highlighting the program’s broader objectives, the PMO noted that it familiarized participants with the socio-economic landscape, cultural heritage, and developmental aspirations of border areas while promoting community participation, national unity, and an understanding of the strategic importance of these villages.

This dialogue with participants is expected to provide the Prime Minister with insights into their ground experiences and reinforce the government’s focus on inclusive development and the strategic significance of India’s border villages. This initiative is part of a broader vision to ensure that remote border communities play an active role in the nation’s development, contributing to the creation of a developed India.
