Bengaluru, July 27: A tragic incident occurred in the Parappana Agrahara area of Bengaluru, where a 26-year-old housewife reportedly took her own life after a video call with her husband. The deceased has been identified as Sanika Gowda, who spoke with her husband, Sharan Gowda, shortly before the incident.
Initial investigations suggest that Sanika was distressed over allegations of her husband’s involvement with another woman. According to police sources, Sharan allegedly sent Sanika an audio recording of his conversation with this other woman. After listening to the audio clip, Sanika became extremely upset and ended the call with her husband. She then tragically hanged herself from the ceiling fan at her parents’ home in the Raysandra area.
This incident is particularly heartbreaking as Sanika reportedly committed suicide in the presence of her seven-month-old child. Her brother discovered her body when he entered her room.
The police reported that the incident took place around 3 AM. Sharan Gowda, a resident of Chikkamagaluru, and Sanika had been married for about a year and a half. Prior to the incident, Sanika had returned to her parental home for postpartum care.
Investigators are looking into the allegations of Sharan’s extramarital affair, which may have caused the turmoil between the couple. A case has been registered at the Parappana Agrahara police station, and the body has been sent to St. John’s Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact reasons behind Sanika’s death.
