New Delhi, May 1: BJP MP Damodar Das Agrawal has sharply reacted to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s allegations regarding the Kolkata strong room controversy. He accused Banerjee of theatrics and searching for excuses for her defeat.
Speaking to reporters, Agrawal stated, “The Election Commission conducted free and fair elections in five states. There are no disputes in four states, but Mamata Banerjee is losing her composure and making baseless allegations. The fall of the Mamata government, which has disregarded Sanatan Dharma, the Hindu community, and local people while relying on Rohingyas and Bangladeshis for power, is evident.”
He further emphasized, “There is no possibility of tampering with the EVMs. Throughout the election process, EVMs are under CCTV surveillance. The Election Commission has clarified that not a single CCTV was turned off anywhere. However, she is creating drama and searching for reasons for her defeat, using this strategy to propagate her agenda.”
Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala also countered Banerjee’s accusations, stating, “Since the exit polls began showing that the BJP is set to form a government with a significant majority in West Bengal while the TMC is facing complete wipeout, TMC members have resorted to ‘Triple D’ (Denial, Drama, and Threats).”
Poonawala labeled the Trinamool Congress as a ‘Mafia Culture’ party, accusing its members of insulting every constitutional institution. He pointed out that Kalyan Banerjee has used derogatory language against the country’s Home Minister and has previously mocked the Supreme Court. Kalyan Banerjee has also insulted the Speaker and threatened the Election Commission.
