Ayodhya, September 2: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is set to hold an important meeting in Ayodhya on Wednesday. This meeting will finalize the appointment of the Trust’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and discuss other trustee-level positions, as the temple committee moves towards significant administrative and leadership changes.
The crucial meeting, taking place at the Maniram Das Chavani, will consist of two sessions. It is expected to primarily focus on the reorganization of the Trust’s management, construction, finance, and religious committees.
This meeting comes a day after a three-member search committee recommended three names for the position of the temple’s first CEO. The committee includes retired Lieutenant General Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi, former scientist Suresh Haware, and former Justice Pramod Kohli. The committee submitted its report to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, the Trust’s treasurer, Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, expressed gratitude to the search committee members for their tireless efforts and stated that their recommendations would be considered before the Trust board meeting.
When asked whether the CEO’s name would be announced after the Trust meeting, Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj mentioned that it depends on the temple committee’s decision.
Meanwhile, retired Justice Kohli stated that he and other committee members feel grateful and fortunate for this opportunity. He emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in the process.
Explaining the selection process, the former judge noted that they received 5,585 applications between July 11 and 18. Reviewing each application was a significant task, leading them to hold a meeting on July 19 and create a Google form to score applicants based on their qualifications.
He shared that a Google form worth 600 points was prepared and sent to all candidates, with 3,570 responding. Each response was meticulously reviewed, and only those scoring over 60 percent were considered.
The former judge further explained that 108 candidates were categorized based on their scores of 470 or above out of 600. Over four days, these candidates were interviewed virtually, and 17 were invited for face-to-face discussions in Ayodhya, with 16 participating.
He added that all interviewees were scored based on different criteria, stating, “We have recommended three names that we found most suitable based on their thought process, understanding of issues, and dedication to Lord Ram.”
