Lucknow, April 12 : Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) crossed all limits of irregularities and high-handedness in THE Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council polls. In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said, “BJP crossed all the limits of rigging and high-handedness in the UP council polls. BJP crushed democracy and history will never forgive it for this.” He said that the truth of BJP, which terms others as casteist, is that out of 36 candidates 18, who won the polls, belong to the same caste as that of the CM. “What type of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Saath’ is this in which SC, ST and OBC have been sidelined,” he said. Akhilesh said that BJP has no faith in the Constitution, democracy and free and fair election process. “In a bid to remain in power BJP is not only weakening the Constitutional institutions, but is also damaging the dignity of democracy. After panchayat elections, assembly polls and now council elections BJP has crushed democratic dignity,” he said. AB ACL2013
