According to tech reporters, the AirPods Max 2 will be announced today at Apple’s It’s Glowtime event as the successor to the AirPods Max 2020. The wearable is said to offer, among other things, better active noise cancellation (ANC) and adaptive audio. In addition to the AirPods Max 2, it is speculated that the Cupertino-based tech giant will also launch other products, including the iPhone 16 series and a successor to the standard AirPods.
AirPods Max 2 details
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Garmin report, the AirPods Max 2 will be one of the products unveiled at Apple’s event. They reportedly offer better ANC and adaptive sound than the AirPods Max. There is also speculation that Apple will switch to USB Type-C, which could replace its dedicated Lightning port.
However, it is unclear whether the iPhone maker will make any changes to the design or color of the AirPods Max successor. Since its launch in 2020, the wireless headphones have only received a handful of new features via software updates. No hardware changes are offered yet.
Other Apple versions (expected)
According to Garman, other Apple AirPods products will also be updated. This could include the addition of entry-level AirPods, with speculation of new low-end AirPods 4. This is reportedly in line with market numbers that suggest Apple’s AirPods will lead the category with 32% sales in 2023.
But according to journalists, Apple’s true wireless stereo (TWS) flagship, the AirPods Pro (2nd generation), will not be updated until next year. In 2025, Apple may update not only the design of each individual headphone, but also the design of the entire case. It can also improve sound quality.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to be one of the highlights of the show, with the Pro models showcasing features powered by Apple Intelligence, the company’s suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features for devices such as iPhone, iPad and Mac.
