The company’s artificial intelligence (AI) suite, Tecno AI Vision, was unveiled at the Berlin International Expo 2024 last week. The consumer tech brand claimed the feature would be available across its “smart device ecosystem.” The company also highlighted several features such as AI search, AI delete, and real-time call translation in more than 20 languages. Notably, Tecno is also improving its native virtual assistant Ella by integrating Google Gemini functionality. This allows the AI assistant to respond conversationally while performing tasks.
Techno-AI perspective
The company announced the Tecno AI Vision in a press release. Although the name suggests capabilities related to computer vision, the term refers to the set of artificial intelligence capabilities that computer vision provides. Techno hasn’t said whether these features will be available for a fee or for free. The list of supported devices is also not published.
The company explained in a video which AI functions are available to users. Ella, the company’s native virtual assistant, takes center stage. Assistant is integrated into Gemini for conversational features.
Another interesting feature is real-time transcription and translation of calls. Tecno says users can receive call transcription during a call and supports more than 20 languages. According to Tecno, 6 major languages and more than 14 minority languages are supported. The company does not publish a list of supported languages.
Tecno AI Vision also has an email draft feature that allows you to create emails based on text messages. This feature also allows you to filter pre-written emails based on specific criteria. This app supports multiple languages so you can also use it to create content in different languages.
Another cool tool is AI Search, an intuitive search function similar to Circle-to-Search. It allows users to highlight the entire page or part of it and perform simple web searches on it. Additionally, Tekno said the AI Vision feature can record and summarize meetings.
One of the advanced features of Tecno AI Vision is the ability to perform tasks related to third-party applications. For example, a user can ask the Ella AI assistant to book a taxi to a specific destination and then go through all the steps to book a taxi directly. Additionally, it has a collection of image generation tools.
Notably, the company did not disclose whether its AI capabilities are supported by native AI models or third-party models. It’s also unclear whether these features will be added on a device-based or server-based basis.
