Yamaha RayZR Takes the Crown: Becomes India’s No. 1 Yamaha Model with 27,280 Units Sold in September

New Delhi, October 27 (Udaipur Kiran): Yamaha Motor India has recorded a strong performance in September 2025, driven by the stellar success of its popular scooter RayZR, which has once again become the company’s best-selling model, leaving behind even the FZ and R15 series.

According to company data, Yamaha sold 73,307 units in September 2025, marking a 9.90% year-on-year growth compared to 66,705 units in September 2024. The company also posted a 21.34% month-on-month growth over August 2025, when it sold 60,413 units — showing a steady sales momentum ahead of the festive season.

Top Performers: RayZR Leads the Pack

  1. RayZR – The Sales King
    Yamaha’s sporty scooter RayZR topped the charts with 27,280 units sold, registering a massive 64.91% YoY growth. The model accounted for 37.21% of Yamaha’s total sales, reaffirming its dominance in the 125cc scooter segment.

  2. FZ Series – Steady Performer
    The FZ series secured the second position with 16,137 units sold, up 18.51% year-on-year, continuing its strong presence among commuter and street bike buyers.

  3. MT-15 and R15 – Mixed Trends
    The MT-15 recorded 11,695 units, witnessing a slight 4.81% annual dip, but a 10.20% month-on-month recovery. Meanwhile, the flagship R15 registered 9,329 units, showing a 23.91% MoM surge despite an annual decline.

  4. Aerox 155 – Premium Segment Growth
    Yamaha’s Aerox 155 maxi-scooter delivered an impressive performance with 2,901 units sold, achieving 35.43% YoY growth, further strengthening Yamaha’s position in the premium scooter category.

  5. Fascino and High-End Models
    The Fascino scooter clocked 5,955 units, marking a yearly decline but a solid 22.81% MoM rebound. In the premium motorcycle segment, R3 and MT-03 together sold 10 units, showing a 150% increase from August’s 4 units.

Q3 2025 Performance: Stable Growth Trend

For Q3 2025 (July–September), Yamaha recorded total sales of 1,84,085 units, up 0.72% year-on-year. During this quarter, the RayZR (64,372 units) and FZ series (41,570 units) drove sales with 35.53% and 12.86% growth, respectively. However, Fascino sales saw a sharp 50.25% decline, raising concerns for the entry-level scooter segment.

What’s Next: XSR155 Launch on the Horizon

Looking ahead, Yamaha is gearing up to expand its lineup with the launch of the XSR155, a neo-retro motorcycle based on the popular R15 platform. The model has been spotted testing on Indian roads, and industry reports suggest its official debut on November 11, 2025.

With its blend of classic styling and modern performance, the XSR155 is expected to strengthen Yamaha’s presence in the premium 150cc–160cc segment, potentially giving a new boost to the brand’s growing momentum.
