Mumbai, August 22: Actor Imran Hashmi has broken his conventional image with his remarkable performance in the romantic drama film ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani.’ On Saturday, his wife Parveen revealed that during the film’s shooting, Imran was grappling with personal struggles.
Parveen Hashmi shared the film’s title track on Instagram, explaining that their son Ayaan was undergoing cancer treatment at the time of filming. Imran had to leave Parveen and their son to shoot for the film.
Parveen wrote, “I vividly remember the time of ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ when Imi (Imran) had to leave for the shoot. This is one of his most emotional films. While shooting, our son Ayaan was receiving cancer treatment, and Imi had to go shoot ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani.’ I know what he was carrying in his heart off-screen.”
She concluded by stating that sometimes the emotions displayed on screen are genuine. “Sometimes the tears you see on screen come from a very real place,” she added.
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mahesh Bhatt, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ is said to be based on the real-life love story of director Mahesh Bhatt’s parents and his stepmother. The film stars Imran Hashmi, Vidya Balan, and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles.
The story revolves around a single mother, Vasudha (Vidya Balan), and a wealthy hotelier, Aarav (Imran Hashmi). Vasudha’s husband, Hari (Rajkummar Rao), left her years ago without notice. Aarav falls in love with Vasudha, and gradually she starts to reciprocate his feelings.
