When Ego Covers the Mind, We Forget Who Is Our Own: Prashant Agarwal

Udaipur, August 20: The Shiva Katha ‘Apno Se Apni Baat, Bhole Nath Ke Saath’ at Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Seva Mahatirtha is seeing a good mix of faith, devotion and life values. During the Katha, Sansthan president Prashant Agarwal explained the character and teachings of Lord Shiva.

He said when the curtain of ego falls over a person’s mind, he starts losing the ability to understand the difference between his own and others, truth and falsehood, and right and wrong.

Shiva Gives Message of Simplicity and Sacrifice

Prashant Agarwal said Lord Shiva gives the message of simplicity, equality and sacrifice. Shiva’s life shows that greatness is not in position, respect or wealth, but in considering the pain of others as our own.

He said when ego grows in the mind, distance starts growing in relationships and the mind becomes disturbed. On the other hand, humility connects a person with family, society and humanity.

Need to Bring Shiva’s Qualities Into Life

Prashant Agarwal said that today people are running after material achievements and are moving away from their own people. As expectations and selfishness increase in relationships, ego has started taking the place of love.

He said at such a time, worship of Lord Shiva should not remain limited to the temple. There is a need to bring the qualities of Shiva into daily life.

During the Katha, devotees became emotional while listening to stories related to the greatness, sacrifice, compassion and equality of Lord Shiva. Devotees listened to the Katha with devotion amid bhajans and Shiva prayers. A large number of devotees were present at the programme.
