WhatsApp Working on Theme Colours; Rolling Out Sticker Editor Feature on Latest iOS Beta: Report

According to the feature tracker, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to choose a theme accent for the popular messaging app on iOS. The company recently changed the look of the app in its beta version for iOS, adding a green color to parts of the interface. It looks like the company will allow users to choose from five theme colors for the app in an upcoming update. Meanwhile, the service is reportedly testing a sticker editor feature in its latest beta version.

As part of a recent WhatsApp update for iOS, the meta platform will soon allow users to select accent colors for some themes in the interface, according to details uncovered by feature tracker WABetaInfo. This platform contains code for display. These include the number of messages on the right side of the chat list, a circle around status updates, the color of the selected tab at the bottom, and several buttons in the interface.

In the latest stable version of WhatsApp for iOS, these UI elements appear with blue accents. WABetaInfo shared a screenshot of the five color accents, showing options from the green WhatsApp accent to the available blue option to off-white, pink and purple. Users are informed that selecting any of the five options will only update the application’s main brand colors.

The newer version, WhatsApp Beta for iOS 24.1.10.72, is now available to testers through the TestFlight program with support for new features, according to WABetaInfo. Beta testers can now use the newly added sticker editor, potentially making this party sticker app obsolete altogether.

According to WABetaInfo, by tapping on an existing sticker, beta testers can edit the sticker using the “Edit Sticker” button. Meanwhile, another button titled “Create Your Own” allows users to create their own stickers in the app. Users can also remove the background of their phone images while creating stickers.

The new label editor is currently available to beta testers, but it may take some time before the color accent selection is available to testers. Due to the function of the tracker, it is currently under development. WhatsApp typically maintains feature parity between both platforms, so we expect these features to roll out to WhatsApp for Android in the future.
