Udaipur : Heavy winds and thunderstorm followed by rains brought the city to a grinding halt for some time on Tuesday evening. A youth was killed due to lightning strike in Sailana village of Jhadol block while in the city area banners, hoarding and large trees fell down due to high wind speed. Boxes, cartons and many other items were seen flying over the streets and commuters were taken aback by the sudden change of weather. People took shelter on the roadsides waiting for the winds to stop. Power supplies were disrupted in many colonies as wires were damaged due to tree felling. Hailstorm has been reported from Badi village adjoing the city. At Durga nursery road few motorcycles and cars were damaged after a tree fell over them. In Sukher area the roof of a restaurant collapsed reportedly injuring three persons who were caught inside.
