Udaipur : Election commission has issued notice to senior BJP leader and former Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria for objectionable comments on first Prime Minister Pt Jawaharlal Nehru and inciting religious sentiments during one of his recent rallies in Udaipur region. Kataria had allegedly said that Nehru had been the cause of present Hindu Muslim problem. ” Partition was held on the basis of population.
The area most populated by Muslim became Pakistan and those dominated by Hindus became Hindustan. However at the time of partition Hindustan had only 9 percent Muslim population that has risen to 19 percent while on the contrary in Pakistan there were 12 percent of Hindus that has reduced to mere 2 percent now” Kataria had said in a public meeting in Jhadol. He further said the Muslims have 12 kids and Hindus have 2 kids and if this situation continues, after 70 years, the country will again be divided into two halves. We are against this Congress mentality.
When anti national slogans are raised in Delhi University, this ‘pappu’ goes to congratulate them, Kataria claimed. The election commission has issued notice seeking clarification which has to be submitted by Wednesday evening, sources claimed.
