New Delhi, April 25: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the recruitment of 731 temporary positions for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ under the Stenographer Examination 2026. Eligible and interested candidates are invited to apply for these vacancies.
The online application process commenced on Friday, April 24, and the last date to apply is set for May 15. Candidates wishing to fill out the application form can submit their registration on the official website before or by the deadline. The last date for submitting the application fee is May 16, and a correction window for candidates who make errors while filling out the application will be open from May 20 to May 21.
Applicants must have passed the 12th grade or an equivalent examination from a recognized board/university. Additionally, candidates must meet other specified eligibility criteria, skills, and experience requirements.
The minimum age for candidates is 18 years, while the maximum age varies between 27 to 30 years, depending on the post grade, calculated as of August 1. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a computer-based examination, a skill test in stenography, document verification, and the final merit list. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹1,42,400, along with other benefits and allowances. The examination is expected to be conducted between July and August.
During the application process, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is set at ₹100 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS categories. Women, SC, ST, PWD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from the registration fee.
To apply online, candidates should first visit the official SSC website. After reaching the homepage, they need to click on the active application link for the relevant post. Following this, they should register and log in. Candidates must fill in all required information in the form and upload the necessary documents in the correct size. After paying the registration fee, they can submit the form and should keep a printout of the application for future reference.
