Udaipur, 5 January – Under the aegis of the India Scout and Guide National Headquarters, New Delhi, the First National Rover-Ranger Jamboree is scheduled to take place from 9 to 13 January 2026 at Dudhli, Balod district, Chhattisgarh. An 18-member team from Udaipur, comprising 16 rovers and 2 rover leaders, has departed for Chhattisgarh to participate in this prestigious national event.
The Udaipur contingent includes nine rovers from Manikyalal Verma Shramjeevi College, led by Rover Leader Dr. Narayan Singh Rao, as well as members from the 53rd Rover Uday Open Rover Crew, headed by Senior Rover Mate Vishal Gupta of the Headquarters Rover Open Crew. The team members are Shubham Menaria, Prafull Chaubisa, Mukesh Menaria, Prince Jat, Punit Menaria, Bhavesh Udavat, Praveen Hirawat, Ritik Menaria, Yuvraj Menaria, Divyansh, Brijwani, Mangal Singh Yadav, Virendra Singh Chundawat, Nikhil Sahu, Arya Kumar, Shubham Nama, Kuldeep Vaishnav, alongside leaders Dr. Narayan Singh Rao and Vishal Gupta.
District Organization Commissioner Scout Surendra Kumar Pande stated that approximately 1,000 rovers and rangers from Rajasthan will participate in the jamboree. In total, around 18,000 rovers and rangers from across India and neighbouring countries, representing various government and private colleges, universities, and schools, will attend this grand event.
The jamboree team was flagged off at Manikyalal Verma Shramjeevi College by Principal Dr. Malay Paneri, CO Scout Udaipur Manmohan Swarnkar, Assistant State Organization Commissioner Scout Deepak Sharma, local association secretary, Udaipur Open Rover Crew leaders, guardians, and local scouts and rovers. They extended their best wishes while offering good luck tokens.
Pande further mentioned that before departure, a three-day district-level jamboree preparation camp was held at the Mandal Camp Centre Udaynivas, Udaipur. Participants were trained and rehearsed for various competitions to be held during the jamboree, including camp craft, rangoli, march past, campfire, skillorama, exhibitions, backwoodsman cooking, cooking without utensils, food plaza, colour party, folk songs, folk dance, global village development, tribal carnival, and science projects.
Under the leadership of State Chief Commissioner Niranjan Arya, Rajasthan’s team, accompanied by State Organization Commissioner Scout Puran Singh Shekhawat and State Training Commissioner Bannalal, will represent the state at the event in Chhattisgarh. Surendra Kumar Pande will serve as the Divisional Contingent Leader for the Udaipur division.
