Udaipur, September 29, 2026: An accountant working with the Udaipur Municipal Corporation died after falling from the third floor of a residential quarter located on the Municipal Corporation premises in the Bhupalpura police station area.

The incident took place at around 3 am on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Dilip Singh Chauhan, son of Gajendra Singh. He was originally from Walai village in Beneshwar, Dungarpur district, and was working as an accountant at the Udaipur Municipal Corporation.
Family Was Sleeping Downstairs
According to police, Dilip Singh lived in the Municipal Corporation quarter with his wife and two daughters. At the time of the incident, his wife and both daughters were sleeping in a room downstairs.
Dilip Singh went to the terrace at around 3 am. According to his family members, he was initially talking on the phone and later started watching videos on the mobile phone.
The terrace had a wall around two-and-a-half feet high. While watching the mobile phone, Dilip Singh suddenly lost his balance and fell from the third floor.
Died During Treatment
Hearing the loud sound of the fall, his wife and nearby neighbours immediately rushed outside. Dilip Singh was found seriously injured and covered in blood. He had sustained severe injuries to his head and waist.
Family members and neighbours immediately took him to a hospital, where doctors started treatment. However, he died around half an hour later.
Bhupalpura police reached the spot and the hospital and gathered information about the incident. Police also questioned family members and neighbours.
The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
Family Left Behind Two Daughters
Dilip Singh is survived by his wife and two daughters. His elder daughter is five years old and studies in nursery, while his younger daughter is around one year old.
