Udaipur, May 28 — In a shocking incident of aggression and corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Special Unit of Udaipur on Tuesday arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rajesh Kumar Meena of Pratapnagar Police Station while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. In an attempt to evade arrest, the accused officer bit an ACB ASI’s hand and wrist, injuring him and a fellow constable.

Bribe Demanded to Remove Name from Case
According to ACB Director General Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, the case began on April 26, 2025, when a complainant reported that ASI Meena was demanding a bribe to remove his name from a kidnapping and assault FIR under investigation at Pratapnagar Police Station. The FIR involved three accused youths, who allegedly misled ASI Meena into targeting the complainant.
These accused reportedly told Meena that the complainant owned a Hyundai Verna and had sufficient money to pay the “expenses” of the police. Based on their input, ASI Meena threatened to implicate the complainant and seize his vehicle, even though the complainant had no connection to the crime and his vehicle was never used in the incident.
₹15,000 Bribe Demand and Threat of Jail
ASI Meena allegedly demanded ₹15,000 from the complainant to clear his name from the case. When the complainant refused to pay, he was threatened with arrest and jail time. Repeated harassment led the complainant to approach the ACB’s Special Unit.
Upon verification, ASI Meena agreed to accept ₹10,000 as part of the negotiated bribe. He asked the complainant to meet him near his official government quarters at the Police Line’s Reti Stand to exchange the money.
ACB Sting Operation and Violent Resistance
During the trap operation, as soon as Meena accepted the bribe from the complainant, the ACB team moved in to arrest him. In a dramatic turn, Meena tried to swallow the currency notes to destroy evidence. When stopped, he became violent and bit ACB ASI Jabir Mohammad and Head Constable Chandrakant on their hands and wrists.
Despite his resistance, Meena, a resident of Barapal, Dungarpur, was caught red-handed and taken into custody.
