Udaipur, June 5 (Udaipur Kiran): Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company and India’s largest integrated producer of zinc, lead and silver, celebrated World Environment Day across its operations with a series of activities focused on environmental conservation, sustainability and workplace responsibility.

At the company’s corporate office in Udaipur, employees actively participated in a Green Workplace Initiative, showcasing simple yet effective ways to reduce resource consumption in daily life. An environmental awareness quiz and a tree plantation drive were also organised to promote sustainability.
At Zinc Smelter Debari, employees, union representatives and senior leaders came together to discuss collective environmental responsibility. The ESG team outlined this year’s theme, key priorities and initiatives aimed at improving environmental performance. Business partner employees from the shop floor also shared practical sustainability measures being implemented in their respective work areas.
At Zawar Mines, a range of activities were conducted under the leadership of the unit management. Along with plantation and cleanliness drives, creative competitions such as quiz contests, newspaper bag-making, poster-making and “Waste Out of Best” activities were organised.
The company said these initiatives not only encouraged employee participation but also promoted innovation in environmental conservation. The celebrations reflected Hindustan Zinc’s continued commitment to integrating environmental responsibility into its workplace culture and operations.
