Mumbai, April 2 – The wait for Daya Ben’s return in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah seems to be far from over. While fans have been holding out hope that Disha Vakani would reprise her legendary role, producer Asit Kumarr Modi has hinted that her comeback may no longer be on the cards.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Asit Modi admitted that the absence of Daya Ben has left a void in the show. “People keep telling us that they are not enjoying the show as much without Daya Ben, and I agree,” he said. “We are trying our best as a team to fill the gap, and we will finalize someone soon.”
However, when asked directly about Disha Vakani’s return, Modi shared a more emotional and realistic perspective:
“We can only pray that Disha returns to the role. She is like a sister to me and has personal and family responsibilities. That makes her return difficult. We still remember her. She was very caring and sincere towards the team. We hope we find someone like her.”
Search for a New Daya Ben Continues
Rumors of actress Kajal Pisal replacing Disha Vakani as Daya Ben had gained traction recently, especially after old audition photos resurfaced. However, Kajal clarified to Zoom that she had auditioned in 2022, but is not currently cast as Daya Ben.
The makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are still on the lookout for a perfect match who can bring the same charm, quirk, and energy to the iconic character that Disha Vakani once did.
