Jaipur, September 30 (Udaipur Kiran) : Amitabh Bachchan, the megastar, is currently hosting the 18th season of the popular quiz reality show “Koun Banega Crorepati.” Contestants from various parts of the country participate in the game and often share personal anecdotes during the show.
Recently, contestant Almas Khan from Jaipur shared a humorous story from her childhood with Bachchan. She recounted how she had bought a ticket to watch his film “Mrittyudata” but ended up falling asleep during the screening. When she woke up, the film had already concluded.
“I want to share a story related to your films,” Almas told Amitabh. “There is a beautiful theater called Raj Mandir in Jaipur, where many big films are released. When I was younger, I went to see your film ‘Mrittyudata’ with all my cousins.”
She continued, “At that time, I was quite young, and it was my first movie in a theater. The film started, but to be honest, I didn’t understand it much. The place was beautiful, and the air conditioning was so nice that I fell asleep. When I opened my eyes, the movie was over, and your song was playing. But I had seen your film first, sir.”
Upon hearing Almas’s story, Amitabh chuckled and humorously asked, “How did you manage to watch the film while sleeping? When you woke up, the picture was already finished, right?”
“Mrittyudata,” released in 1997, marked Amitabh Bachchan’s return to the big screen after a significant break. Directed by Mehul Kumar, the film featured Amitabh in the role of Dr. Ram Prasad, a respected surgeon, alongside Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, and Arbaaz Ali Khan in pivotal roles. The film was produced by Bachchan’s own production company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL), and its music, composed by Anand-Milind, included the popular track “Na Na Na Na Re,” featuring Daler Mehndi’s voice.
