New Delhi, December 22 – On the concluding day of his historic visit to Kuwait, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister. The agenda includes the signing of key MoUs and a press briefing before PM Modi departs for New Delhi later in the afternoon.
This visit, marking the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in 43 years, has been hailed as a milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
Strengthening India-Kuwait Ties
During his address at the ‘Hala Modi’ event, held at the Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah Sports Complex, PM Modi underscored the deep cultural and civilizational ties between India and Kuwait.
“India and Kuwait share a bond that transcends diplomacy. It’s a relationship forged by history, culture, and the hearts of our people. The Arabian Sea may separate us geographically, but it unites us through shared destinies,” said PM Modi while addressing the Indian diaspora, who attended the event in large numbers with evident enthusiasm.
PM Modi expressed gratitude to Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Sabah for the invitation, calling it an honor to engage in meaningful dialogue that reinforces the longstanding friendship between India and Kuwait.
Participation in Arabian Gulf Cup
PM Modi also participated as the Guest of Honor at the Arabian Gulf Cup opening ceremony, celebrating the spirit of football in the region. The event highlighted sports as a medium to strengthen ties between nations.
Taking to social media, PM Modi shared, “I had the privilege of attending the grand opening of the Arabian Gulf Cup. This spectacular event celebrates the spirit of football in the region and the unity it fosters among people.”
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, further emphasized the significance of PM Modi’s participation, stating, “The Arabian Gulf Cup marks a celebration of India-Kuwait relations, reflecting shared interests in sports and cultural camaraderie.”
