Mumbai, October 4 (Udaipur Kiran) : Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has voiced his concerns regarding the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) in a recent viral video associated with the song “Chuttamalle” from the film “Devara.” The video, which has drawn significant attention, features a morphed depiction of a woman and has sparked outrage, particularly from actor Junior NTR, who has threatened legal action against those responsible for creating and disseminating the content.
Varma remarked that when celebrities discuss offensive AI-generated material on social media, it often serves as a form of publicity, inadvertently increasing the viewership of such content. He emphasized that the focus should instead be on identifying the individuals who created the altered video, rather than amplifying the problematic content itself.
The issue gained traction after Junior NTR condemned the video on social media, labeling its creators as having a “sick mentality.” He expressed his dismay over the use of AI to disrespect women, stating that in a culture that reveres women as mothers and goddesses, such actions are unacceptable. He urged the public to refrain from engaging with or sharing such content, highlighting the potential for similar incidents to affect anyone’s family members.
Junior NTR also called upon both state and central governments to establish stringent regulations to prevent the misuse of AI technology. This incident has ignited a broader conversation about the ethical implications of AI in media and the responsibilities of creators and consumers alike.
