
Bhopal, July 30 (Udaipur Kiran): Madhya Pradesh has experienced substantial rainfall in the month of July. Since the onset of the monsoon, half of the season’s total rainfall, or 50 percent, has already been recorded in just 38 days. Seoni district has received the highest rainfall, measuring 31.26 inches. From today, July 30, another strong weather system is becoming active, promising heavy rainfall across the state starting July 31. An alert for heavy rain has been issued for Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori, and Anuppur districts on Tuesday.
According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is currently active over Southeast Madhya Pradesh. The monsoon trough is passing through Guna, Raisen, and Mandla towards the Bay of Bengal. Additionally, two other systems are active, contributing to ongoing rainfall. A strong weather activity is expected to begin from July 31.
So far, the state has received an average of 18.5 inches of rainfall, which is 1.6 inches more than normal. The western regions—Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, and Gwalior-Chambal divisions—have received 10 percent more rainfall than the average. The eastern regions—Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur, and Shahdol divisions—have seen 4 percent more rainfall than usual. The Jabalpur division leads in terms of rainfall, with Seoni, Dindori, Chhindwara, Mandla, and Balaghat receiving the highest amounts. Conversely, the Rewa division lags behind in the rainfall statistics.
