Bhopal, May 6, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Two active weather systems are set to impact Madhya Pradesh, triggering an alert for strong winds and rainfall in 28 districts on Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhopal, wind speeds may reach 40 to 50 km per hour in districts including Gwalior, Datia, Morena, Bhind, Jabalpur, Katni, Chhindwara, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Pandhurna, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Sagar, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari.
The weather is expected to change by evening across the state, although some districts may witness storm and rain activity during the day as well.
Meanwhile, districts such as Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Indore, Dhar, Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Barwani, Khandwa, Khargone, Jhabua, Ujjain, Neemuch, Agar Malwa, Mandsaur, Shajapur, Dewas, Ratlam, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Sheopur, Guna, Shivpuri and Ashoknagar are likely to experience intense heat during daytime hours.
The state has been witnessing storm and rain activity for the past five consecutive days. On Tuesday, several districts including Gwalior, Chhatarpur, Dhar, Barwani, Dindori and Balaghat experienced rainfall and gusty winds since morning, while strong winds continued in Bhopal and other areas during the night.
Day temperatures also saw a dip on Tuesday. Among major cities, Bhopal recorded 37.2°C, Indore 37.6°C, Gwalior 34.7°C, Ujjain 38°C and Jabalpur 37°C.
Khargone remained the hottest at 42°C, followed by Khandwa at 41.5°C and Narsinghpur at 41.4°C. Naugaon recorded the lowest maximum temperature at 33.5°C. Other readings included Sidhi at 34°C, Tikamgarh at 34.5°C, Rewa at 34.6°C, Satna and Datia at 34.8°C, Malajkhand at 35°C, Umaria at 35.4°C and Guna at 35.6°C.
