UDAIPUR, June 21, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and dignity on Sunday at the Yoga Department premises of Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University (PAHER), Udaipur. The programme was jointly organised by the Department of Yoga and the Faculty of Education. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”.

Prof. B.P. Sharma, Group President, PAHER Group of Universities, and Prof. Hemant Kothari, President, PAHER University, attended the programme as chief guests. Addressing the gathering, they said that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a complete way of life that promotes a healthy, balanced and disciplined lifestyle. They appealed to everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Hemant Pandya, Principal, Pacific College of Physical Education, while Dr. Jaswant Menaria, Head of the Department of Yoga, served as the programme coordinator.
During the event, teachers, officers, staff members and students from various faculties, departments and institutions of the university collectively participated in yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation sessions under the Common Yoga Protocol. Yoga experts encouraged participants to adopt a stress-free, healthy and active lifestyle through regular yoga practice.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, members of the university family resolved to promote yoga among the masses and contribute actively towards the creation of a healthier India.
The university administration expressed gratitude to all participants and members of the organising committee for the successful conduct of the programme.
