Udaipur, May 6, 2025 — With chants of devotion and the auspicious Bhoomi Pujan, preparations for the 9th Shri Shyam Mahotsav commenced on Monday at Fateh School Ground in Udaipur. The three-day spiritual celebration, organized by Shri Khatu Shyam Mitra Mandal Trust, will run from May 8 to 10, with highlights including a grand Nishan Yatra, Mehendi ceremony, and a spectacular Bhajan Sandhya.

Bhoomi Pujan Marks Beginning of Spiritual Festivities
The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony began at 9 AM with Vedic rituals conducted by Jagdish Chaubisa and team, with Sachin Agarwal and his wife Chitrayama Agarwal serving as chief hosts. Key organizers including Rajesh Goyal, Suresh Agarwal, and Kamal Bhawsar’s team led the groundwork for what promises to be one of the city’s grandest religious events.
This year, the divine court of Baba Shyam is being built with a unique oceanic theme, depicting Lord Vasudev carrying infant Krishna across the Yamuna. Artisans from Kolkata have arrived in Udaipur to help construct the floral decorations, using both domestic and exotic flowers to adorn the divine darbar.
Mahotsav Highlights: May 8 to 10

May 8 – Nishan Yatra & Nagar Bhraman
The Mahotsav will begin with a grand Nishan Yatra at 6 PM, starting from Fateh School Ground. More than 1,100 devotees are expected to participate, carrying religious flags (nishans) through various city routes. This will be accompanied by a first-ever Nagar Bhraman (city tour) of Baba Khatu Shyam’s idol across Udaipur. -
May 9 – Mehendi Ceremony
Devotees, especially women, will participate in the Mehendi Rasam, applying henna in the name of Baba Shyam, signifying devotion and festive spirit. -
May 10 – Grand Bhajan Sandhya
The main event will take place on May 10 at 7:15 PM onwards, featuring soulful bhajans and devotional music. Renowned artists such as:-

Community Support and Devotee Participation
The event is being powered by an enthusiastic volunteer force, including:
Sunil Bansal, Shubham Garg, Kailash Chand Garg, Rajesh Agarwal, Rajendra Bhatnagar, among others. Women volunteers like Beenu Goyal, Preeti Garg, Meena Garg, and Pratibha Bhatnagar are also contributing significantly.
Shyam devotees Krishna Kant Agarwal and Puneet Agarwal informed that registration is mandatory for participating in the Nishan Yatra.
Social Commitment: A Step Beyond Devotion
As part of the Trust’s ongoing community welfare initiatives, a young girl named Hida Rathore, studying in Class 5, was adopted by the organization. Her education and welfare will be fully supported by the trust.
Further, a mass marriage event has been announced for April 30, 2026, to be hosted in Jodhpur by the Trust, aiming to register a minimum of 21 couples for the ceremony.
