Udaipur, August 27: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that the concepts of ‘Gen Z’ and ‘Gen Alpha’ are ideas originating from America and Europe, with no direct connection to Indian social and cultural systems.
Speaking to the media in Somnath, CM Sarma emphasized that in India, there are no such categories as ‘Gen Z’ or ‘Gen Alpha.’ He remarked, “In our country, we have sons, daughters, parents, and grandparents. The concepts of ‘Gen Z’ and ‘Gen Alpha’ have come from America and Europe, and we have no relation to that culture. It is our duty to work for the well-being of our children. It is not right to label them as ‘Gen Z’ or ‘Gen Alpha.’ We should live together, like a family, and work tirelessly for our children and the progress of the nation.”
Regarding his visit to the Somnath temple, Sarma expressed gratitude for the arrangements made by the government, stating that Somnath is one of the major pilgrimage sites in the country. He expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Somnath will become one of the world’s leading pilgrimage destinations in the future.
Sarma also expressed concern over the recent floods in Nepal, recalling that Assam had also faced flooding recently, which causes significant distress to the people. He prayed for the peace and well-being of those affected, highlighting the loss of life and damage to homes and property during such disasters.
Targeting the Congress party, Sarma accused it of working against women’s interests, claiming that the party has prevented the implementation of a uniform civil code in the country. He stressed the necessity of equal laws to ensure equal rights for women and urged women to boycott the Congress party.
