Mumbai, August 28: NCP-SP spokesperson Naseem Siddiqui has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating flood tragedy in Nepal. He stated that this is a very tragic event and that the people of India fully sympathize with the people of Nepal. He urged the government to conduct a large-scale rescue operation to save missing individuals and to extend every possible assistance to Nepal as a neighboring country.
Siddiqui also criticized the central government and the Supreme Court regarding political defections, suggesting that it would be more appropriate to refer to certain MPs as traitors. He remarked that these individuals came to power on the basis of votes from Mamata Banerjee’s party but changed their allegiance due to pressure from the CBI and monetary temptations, aligning themselves with the NDA. He emphasized that such actions should have been addressed by the Speaker earlier.
He further accused the Speaker of bias and of failing to perform their duties properly, especially as the matter is currently under consideration in the Supreme Court. He noted that the Speaker’s delayed actions appear to support those aligning with the NDA, and he believes the public will teach them a lesson in the future.
Siddiqui expressed great respect for the Supreme Court but criticized its recent performance, suggesting that it has deviated from its principles since the BJP government took power. He pointed out that while sometimes justice is served, government interference often leads to injustice, particularly for those labeled as traitors.
He concluded by reiterating his condolences regarding the disaster in Nepal, highlighting the need for a significant rescue operation to save lives, and called for the opposition to stand united with the government on this issue.
