In a press release, the company confirmed that the Realme 12 Pro 5G series will launch in India on January 29 at 12:00 IST. One of the devices in the range has been confirmed to feature a periscope telephoto camera, possibly a variant of the Pro+. The recently leaked design features a circular camera module on one of the phones with a gold plate in the middle at the top of the back. It is confirmed that it will be available in submarine blue color.
Previous leaks suggested that the Realme 12 Pro could come in Navigator Beige and Submarine Blue colors with 12GB + 256GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations. On the other hand, the Realme 12 Pro+ could be available in the additional Explorer Red color. It is recommended that the top model has 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage.
The Realme 12 Pro series has already been confirmed to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. The base Realme 12 Pro will come with a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, while the Pro+ version will come with an OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom support. Realme 12 Pro+ also supports 6x lossless zoom and 120x digital zoom. For the front camera, Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ will come with 16-megapixel and 32-megapixel sensors respectively.
The base model is expected to come with a 1st generation Snapdragon 6 chipset, while the Pro Plus variant is expected to come with a 2nd generation Snapdragon 7S chipset. Both models are expected to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and support 67W wired fast charging. The Realme 12 Pro is said to feature a 6.7-inch curved Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to run on Realme UI 5 based on Android 14 and feature an under-display fingerprint sensor.
