Udaipur, September 23, 2026: The Rajasthan Excise Department has seized Indian-made foreign liquor worth more than ₹1.11 crore and arrested 271 people as part of a special preventive campaign against illegal liquor activities across the state.
The campaign is being conducted under the direction of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta to prevent the illegal manufacturing, storage, transportation and sale of liquor. Excise teams are carrying out checkpoints, patrols and raids across different districts.
Action is also being taken against wash, illicit country liquor and liquor brought from other states.
More Than 2.50 Lakh Litres of Wash Destroyed
According to the Excise Department, 742 cases had been registered under the campaign up to September 22, 2026.
During the various operations, the department seized 1,934 litres of country liquor valued at ₹5,24,863, 10,089 litres of Indian-made foreign liquor valued at ₹1,11,05,030, and 562 litres of beer valued at ₹1,17,345.
The teams also seized 6,905 litres of illicit liquor and 350 litres of spirit. In addition, 2,50,914 litres of wash were destroyed.
The department seized 30 vehicles, including one large vehicle, seven four-wheelers and 22 two-wheelers. A total of 271 people allegedly involved in illegal liquor activities were arrested.
Raids and Checkpoints Across Districts
In Jaipur Rural, excise teams destroyed 25,000 litres of wash and 15 furnaces and seized 90 litres of illicit liquor.
In Jhotwara, Jaipur, teams seized 366 pouches of country liquor and a motorcycle and arrested two accused.
In Churu district, raids in Badhabar Tanda and Bhanisariya Teja under the Sujangarh Excise Police Station area led to the destruction of 300 litres of wash and one liquor furnace. Four litres of illicit liquor were also seized.
In Ratangarh, 295 pouches of country liquor and three litres of illicit liquor were seized and cases were registered.
In Deeg, teams seized 18 Kingfisher beer units, 44 pouches of Ghunghroo country liquor, 32 pouches of Green Label Indian-made foreign liquor and 15 litres of illicit liquor. Around 1,000 litres of wash were also destroyed.
In Nagaur district, a raid in Padukala in the Merta area resulted in the seizure of nine cartons of RSGSM liquor, three cartons of Ghunghroo country liquor, two cartons of Dhola Maru country liquor and two cartons of beer, along with 672 pouches of country liquor.
At Jejasani village in Merta, 1,500 litres of wash were destroyed and seven litres of illicit liquor were seized.
In Sri Ganganagar, 150 litres of wash were destroyed and 10 litres of illicit liquor were seized. In Sikar, 400 litres of wash and one liquor furnace were destroyed.
In Kushalgarh, Banswara, 24 Mount 6000 beer cans meant for sale in Madhya Pradesh were seized and a case was registered.
In Tonk, excise teams destroyed 1,500 litres of wash and two furnaces.
Zero-Tolerance Action Against Illegal Liquor
The Excise Department said similar checkpoint, raid and intensive patrolling operations are being conducted across all districts of Rajasthan under the special preventive campaign.
Additional Excise Commissioners at the zonal level, Deputy Excise Commissioners, District Excise Officers, Excise Inspectors and excise enforcement teams are taking action against illegal liquor under a zero-tolerance policy.
