Modi Celebrates Pandit Deendayal Upadhyays 110th Birth Anniversary in Delhi

New Delhi, September 25 (Udaipur Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a special event in New Delhi on September 25, marking the 110th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Sangh. The gathering, held at Deendayal Upadhyay Park, featured a modern spiritual trend known as ‘Bhajan Clubbing,’ which aims to present traditional bhajans and kirtans in a contemporary style, particularly appealing to the youth.

In a video from the event, Modi was seen sitting in the front row among the audience, enjoying performances by singers and musicians dedicated to devotional songs. He also participated actively by playing the khanjari during the program.

Earlier in the day, Modi paid tribute to Upadhyay, emphasizing the relevance of his philosophy of Antyodaya as a foundation for public welfare and national development. He highlighted how Upadhyay’s vision continues to guide contemporary policies and grassroots empowerment.

On social media platform X, Modi expressed his homage to Upadhyay, noting that the leader’s commitment to uplifting the most marginalized members of society laid the groundwork for nation-building. He called upon citizens to embrace Upadhyay’s legacy, urging them to internalize his ideals and reaffirm their social and national responsibilities.

A press release also indicated that Modi shared a Sanskrit proverb, underscoring the notion that success and innovation stem not from luck but from persistent effort and courage. Upadhyay, born on September 25, 1916, was a key figure in the Indian political landscape and a thinker associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He initiated the monthly publication ‘Rashtra Dharma’ in the 1940s to promote the ideals of Hindutva revival, which translates to ‘national duty.’
