Udaipur: Mewar Bachao Manch has joined the Rajasthan Police’s statewide cyber crime awareness campaign being conducted across the state in September to educate people about rising cases of cyber fraud and ways to stay safe.
The Rajasthan Police is conducting the month-long awareness drive to inform people about different forms of cyber crime and preventive measures. As part of the campaign, cyber awareness programmes are being organised at various locations in Udaipur, with Mewar Bachao Manch also playing an active role.
Mewar Bachao Manch founder-president Abhishek Pandey said awareness programmes were organised in different police station areas of Udaipur under the direction of nodal officer and Additional Superintendent of Police Abdul Rehman. He said DSP Cyber Crime Shyam Singh Ratnu also played an important role in making the campaign successful.
During the programmes, people openly discussed cyber crime incidents and pointed out that it can be difficult to distinguish between genuine and fraudulent calls. They also said fraudsters often use emotional conversations to deceive people.
The cyber crime team urged people not to fall for tempting offers and to remain alert. It also stressed the need for people to educate themselves as well as their family members about cyber fraud.
