Ajmer, October 25 (Udaipur Kiran): The world-famous Pushkar Camel and Cattle Fair 2025 is all set to return with its vibrant charm and grandeur. The sandy dunes of Pushkar are once again buzzing with the arrival of livestock traders and visitors, as preparations reach their final stage. So far, 624 animals have arrived at the fairgrounds, and several high-value horses have been transported in air-conditioned vehicles.

The fair will officially begin on October 30, marked by a spectacular Deepdan ceremony where 1.25 lakh earthen lamps will illuminate the sacred Pushkar Lake and its 52 ghats. The Municipal Council has begun elaborate preparations for the lighting event. The same evening will also witness the launch of cultural performances and competitions, setting the festive tone.
According to the Animal Husbandry Department, this year’s fair is expected to host over 5,000 horses, with breeders and traders arriving from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, and northern India. Among the most talked-about attractions is the mare “Nagina,” valued at ₹1 crore. Nagina, the daughter of the famed stallion “Dilbagh,” has already won four national-level show titles and continues to draw significant attention.
The evening of October 30 will feature a grand Deepdan at Pushkar Sarovar, accompanied by rangoli decorations and a Maha Aarti at the Brahma Ghat and other major ghats. On November 2 (Kartik Ekadashi), an a spiritual foot march (padyatra) will also be organized.
Ahead of the fair, Annakoot Mahotsav was celebrated at the Brahma Temple, where devotees offered a 5,100 kg Annakoot bhog to Lord Brahma, displayed through a beautiful tableau of 56 traditional dishes, followed by a Maha Aarti and prasadam distribution.
To ensure safety and crowd management, the administration has implemented strict security measures. According to SDM Guru Prasad Tanwar, 150 high-megapixel CCTV cameras have been installed across Pushkar, including 35 at the busiest ghats. A control room at the Municipal Council office will monitor the area 24 hours a day. Additionally, a one-way traffic system will be enforced from November 1 to 5 to ensure smooth movement of tourists and livestock traders.
The Pushkar Fair continues to be a major attraction for both domestic and international tourists, offering a unique blend of Rajasthani culture, devotion, and tradition. With camel calls echoing, horses galloping, and vibrant folk performances filling the air, Pushkar is once again ready to celebrate its timeless spirit under the glow of a million lamps.
